Covid-19 Friendly CPR courses

Blended learning uses online technology not only to supplement but also to transform and improve the learning process. Successful blended learning can reach students with varying learning styles and in different environments. It is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on session with an American Heart Association certified Instructor.  ECA provides the hands-on portion for the following American Heart Association courses:

1. Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED
2. Heartsaver CPR AED
3. Heartcode Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider

Covid-19 modifications:

• Temperature check and sanitizing stations available
• Flexible times and dates 
• We are reducing our class sizes to a maximum of 6 students, or less (per the current recommendations). 
• We will provide 6 feet, or more, of space between students. 
• Each student will have their own manikin. 
• There will be no rescue breathing performed on the manikin. 
• We will practice hands-only CPR and the use of the AED. 
• Each student will use gloves. 
• Healthcare providers will practice hands-only single rescuer CPR, use of the BVM in 2-person CPR, and the use of the AED. 
• First Aid practice will not include any skills that involve touching another person. 
• Classrooms are thoroughly disinfected before and after each class. 
• Classrooms will stay ventilated during class.
